Guardian Gear supplies body armor for law enforcement agencies across the land. Law enforcement agencies may only purchase armor that is NIJ tested and rated. There is no more stringent standard for protection than the NIJ. The NIJ standard is the only nationally accepted standard for body armor used by law enforcement and corrections officers. The NIJ also administers the program to test commercially available armor for compliance with the standards. These tests determine whether the armor meets NIJ’s minimum performance standards.
